With 350 days of sunny skies each year, The Greater Palm Springs Desert area offers a peaceful and relaxing setting with reliable warm sunshine – great for golf, swimming, hiking, tennis, relaxing, shopping & casinos – everything under the sun. The historic village of Palm Springs, population 44,000, is known worldwide for its amazing weather, soaring palm trees, beautiful mountains, magnificent collection of mid-century modern Palm Springs Architecture, as well as its star-filled Hollywood history – all in a tranquil village setting with sun filled days and star-lit nights.

Palm Springs, California, is the most widely known and celebrated of the desert cities with a population of 44,000. It is located just off the I-10, about two hours east of Los Angeles.

Palm Springs is located at the base of the San Jacinto Mountains, majestic mountains that soar approximately 10,000 feet. Since the late 1930s, Palm Springs has been referred to as Hollywood’s desert playground, attracting movie-stars and sun-seekers drawn by Palm Springs’ natural beauty of majestic mountains and soaring palm trees. The Palm Springs area is also often referred to as “the golf capital of the world” as the area is home to over 100 world-class golf courses and resorts.

The median age of Palm Springs residents is 46. Approximately 17% of Palm Springs residents have children in their households.

Palm Desert is home to 42,850 residents and is known as one of the valley’s retail, golf, educational and cultural hubs.

Shopping and golfing are two of Palm Desert’s favorite pastimes. Palm Desert’s shopping hub is called El Paseo, often referred to as the “Rodeo Drive” of the Desert offering world-class shops such as Saks Fifth Avenue, Pottery Barn, Williams Sonoma and Banana Republic. The average age of Palm Desert residents is 48.

Rancho Mirage is home to 14,000 residents and is often called the “Playground of the Presidents.” Rancho Mirage is a community of country clubs, golf courses, private homes and condominiums, as well as fine medical facilities including the world-famous Betty Ford Clinic at the Eisenhower Medical Center. Many of the city's streets are named after its famous residents of past and present including Bob Hope, Dinah Shore, Frank Sinatra and President Gerald Ford.

Cathedral City connects with Palm Springs on Palm Springs’ eastern border. Fast growing Cathedral City is the valley’s third largest city and home to 42,647 residents. Young families make up the bulk of Cathedral City’s population, with the median age of 36 years.

Indian Wells, population 4,338, is home to some of the Desert’s highest priced estate homes and is home to some of the country’s wealthiest retirees. The Indian Wells Tennis Gardens is home to the annual Pacific Life Open Tennis Tournament and its golf courses and country clubs have been graced by the likes of Bing Crosby and President Dwight D. Eisenhower. It is also home to the annual Bob Hope Chrysler Classic Golf Tournament.

La Quinta, the Desert Area’s newest city, was established in 1982 and is now the fastest growing Desert city with a population of 28,715. The city is home to the world-famous La Quinta Resort and Spa. The city features 5 public parks and a fast-growing housing market and retail scene.

Indio is the Coachella Valley’s largest city with a population of 52,000. The average age in Indio is 27 and the average price of a home is approximately $120,000. 49% of the households in Indio have children. The City’s nickname is “The City of Festivals” as it is home to the Riverside County Fair & Date Festival, The International Tamale Festival and others.

Desert Hot Springs is a community of 17,000 residents known for its natural hot springs that bubble on natural wells that grace the properties of small boutique hotels, spas and homes. 38% of households have children. The town, located less than 10 miles north of Palm Springs, is characterized by its sense of wilderness and natural desert vistas.

Palm Springs is within a few hours drive for over 20 million Southern California residents. For out-of-state and international visitors, Palm Springs is easily accessible from more than three international airports. Palm Springs International airport (PSP) is located just 5 minutes from downtown Palm Springs. Ontario, California (ONT) is located approximately 65 miles west of Palm Springs on Interstate 10 – about an hour’s drive To Palm Springs. Los Angeles International (LAX) is located approximately 100 miles west of Palm Springs (a two hour drive).
